Mitchell Farm has been a hobby farm raising Red & Black Angus beef and
producing hay in the Flathead Valley for over a decade.
Mitchell Farm owner & operator- Leah Mitchell:
Originally from a hobby farm in Maine, Leah has always had a passion for animals and the outdoors. She has been working with and riding horses from a very young age. From show jumping, cross country jumping & dressage to management positions at dude ranches in Colorado & Montana and packing for several different hunting outfitters in Colorado & Montana.
Also in her repertoire are various outdoor jobs/certifications such as White Water Rafting Guide, Hunting Guide, Rescue Scuba Diving certification, Law Enforcement, Wilderness First Aid.
Spring and Summer on the farm consist of spreading manure on the fields, pruning, gardening/planting, cutting & baling hay, moving steers to summer pasture, fishing, fencework, equipment maintenance.
Fall is hunting, butcher dates for steers, and harvesting. Winters are Skijoring races, snow plowing, shoveling, feeding critters
