What is SkiJoring?
SkiJoring is a timed winter team sport in which a horse and rider pulls a skier or snowboarder at high speed on a race course with jumps, gates and rings the skier/boarder has to navigate.
It is derived from a Norwegian word meaning 'ski driving'.
Over the past 10 years, this sport has exploded nationwide with races held almost every weekend throughout the winter.
There are typically 3 different divisions to compete in;
Novice (beginner), Sport (intermediate) and Open (pro)
Races are hosted by non-profit groups with the majority of the races held in Montana, Colorado, Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.
Each race attracts hundreds of competitors and thousands of spectators!
